Monday, March 16 -- Counselor E-Mail to Juniors
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians:
I hope you are all staying healthy! I wanted to offer some communication regarding the SAT. As of today, the Collegeboard or the State of Michigan has not changed the timeline for the SAT. Unless further communication is released, the SAT will still be given during school hours on April 14th. If any changes do occur, WMAA or myself, will send that communication out to you.
In the meantime, below are some resources available to your student for SAT preparation and scholarship opportunities:
Khan Academy - Free SAT Test Prep
Your student should already have Collegeboard and Khan Academy accounts linked. If your student is experiencing log in issues, you may complete the "password reset" option or by calling the Collegeboard directly, 866-756-7346 or emailing [email protected]
You do not want to create another account.
*If your student's accounts are not linked, here is a resource to do so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=patbkNnnAQ4
$1000 SAT Practice Scholarship
$2000 Improve Your Score Scholarship (available April 2020)
$500 Scholarship - Build Your College List (Please note that your student will also need to build their list of college interests in Scoir as well. Transcripts and other documentation for the college application process will be sent through the Scoir Platform. "Big Future" is a resource available to you for research purposes).
